Self-serve German packaging price checklist
Questions to answer before accepting an EPR quote.
Use this seven-step worksheet when reading provider pages or quotes. It helps you spot mismatched scope before a low-looking number becomes an expensive assumption.
This worksheet organizes price evidence. It does not determine whether you are a producer, whether packaging is subject to system participation, or whether an obligation or exemption applies.
Price-check sequence
Seven checks before you compare totals.
- 01
Fix the seller scenario
Write down where the business is established, whether it has a German branch, who receives the goods and who places the filled packaging on the German market.
- 02
Keep free LUCID registration separate
Record registration as a personal official step—not as a paid provider fee. Note who will maintain the registration details.
- 03
Use the same packaging basket
For every provider, use the same year and the same kilograms by material: paper/cardboard, plastic, glass, metals and any other relevant material.
- 04
Separate every paid component
Record authorised-representative service, system participation/licensing and reporting support on separate lines.
- 05
Normalize the commercial terms
Record net or gross price, VAT treatment, currency, minimum charge, contract term, renewal, setup fee and cancellation terms.
- 06
Save the evidence date
Keep the source URL, the date you checked it, and any written scope statement that explains inclusions and exclusions.
- 07
Withhold the comparison when scope is incomplete
Only compare fully priced totals for the same defined basket. If any selected component is unresolved, show the known subtotal and the unknown—not a ranked total.
